School Reopening 2022-23: Health and Safety Guidelines

Our lives have slowly transitioned back to what it was like before the pandemic struck us. While we accommodate ourselves to the normal again, we can only imagine what the students must be going through. After learning from home for a couple of years, they must be facing a series of mixed feelings with regards to attending school offline with their friends.

Apart from the students, even parents would be happy for their children, since they would finally be able to go back to school. However, one of the apprehensions that parents and students must be facing is the risk of falling sick after attending school. Especially, because your children will be learning to socialize again, and might come in contact with many external factors that might pose a danger to your children.

To ensure the safety of all children and staff members while making sure that the parents have nothing to worry about, here are some Health and Safety Guidelines that everyone must follow as we return to school.

1) Get yourself tested: Before you join your classes, get tested for COVID-19 or any other disease. Once you get the reports and confirm that you are safe and sound, you will be able to learn better and also socialize with your peers without being a threat to their health.

2) Make sure to get your vaccination doses If you are eligible for vaccination, make sure that you get all your doses 14 days before starting classes. This goes for both, the students and staff before they commence classes for the academic year. This will ensure that you are safeguarded from the virus, during the School Reopening time, and hence will not be passing it over to anyone else too.

3) Stay home in case of any illness Do not step out in case you experience any of these symptoms; fever, cough, tiredness, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, headache, aches and pains, diarrhea, a rash on skin, or discolouration of fingers or toes, red or irritated eyes, difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath, loss of speech or mobility, or confusion, and chest pain

4) Sanitize at all times Sanitizing frequently will make sure that you kill the harmful bacterias and viruses to a large extent, keeping your peers and yourself safe at all times. Make sure to sanitize, as this is one of the most important parts of the Health and Safety Guidelines.

5) Mask on at all times Once you've come into contact with the virus, it can be easy to spread it. If you touch your eyes, nose, or mouth after coming into contact with the virus, it can enter your body and make you sick. That's why it's important to practice respiratory hygiene by coughing or sneezing into your elbow or a tissue.

These are just a few guidelines and rules that a student must follow, as we approach the School Reopening days. These Health and Safety Guidelines can go a long way in making sure that the child and their whole family is safe, and stay away from all kinds of illnesses. In case, your ward contracts the COVID-19 virus, or any other sickness, do make sure that you let the school know. Necessary precautions can then be taken to ensure the safety of all other students too. Parents’ co-operation during these testing times is highly appreciated and can go a long way in making sure that we get through these times victorious together.
