“HAATHI GHODA PAALKI, JAI KANHAIYA LAAL KI”
Janmashtami is celebrated as a symbol of the end of darkness and rooting out of the evil forces. The wonderful occasion of Krishna Janmashtami celebration took place at National Public School, Banashankari with high spirits, bright colours, taste of butter, soothing bhajans and a lot of happiness. Children came dressed in ethnic wear as Radha and Krishna. It was a beautiful presentation with joyous melody and twirling dances.
ONAM -2024
At NPS, BSK the kindergarten block came alive with joy and excitement during onam celebrations on 13th September, Thursday. The tiny tots from kindergarten looked adorable in their Kerala outfits, filling the atmosphere with festive cheer. LKG and UKG students danced around pookalam, beautifully crafted by the teachers, adding cultural charm to the day.
Principal Ma’am, with a bearing smile clicked pics with the little onam dressed cuties. The event was a blend of tradition and joy, spreading the festive essence to be cherished for long.
DASARA -2024
Kindergarten children of NPS BSK celebrated Dasara festival with fervour, enthusiasm and joy.
This festival signifies victory of good over evil. It is an important festival for students to learn cultural, moral and spiritual values.
Jolly vibes on Saturday: A day of fun and connection.
On 27th of July 2024, our school buzzed with laughter and joy as parents, children and teachers got together for a delightful day of activities. The event aptly named ‘Jolly Vibes’ kicked off with an engaging picture-letter matching game. The highlight of the day was the ramp walk, where parents along with our little ones walked the ramp bringing smiles and cheers from everyone present, creating cherished memories. The event was designed to strengthen the bond between teachers and parents, crucial for fostering student’s emotional and academic growth, preparing them to become exemplary future citizens. We concluded with an energetic action dance session, featuring the popular ‘Dance and Freeze’ game. Parents and children danced with enthusiasm sharing moments of pure joy.
COMMUNITY HELPERS
Community helpers make life better for the people in the community, keep the community healthy and safe, and help it function more efficiently. To bring awareness of the same, Pre Kg children of NPS BSK, came dressed as doctor, lawyer, teacher, soldier etc. This approach allowed young learners to absorb new information in creative and interesting ways.
FLORAL ACTIVITY
Flowers are a beautiful reflection of nature. On Friday (20-9-24) our kindergarten department organize a flower arrangement to portray this vibrancy of nature. Our tiny tots coloured the whole environment and ambience of NPS BSK with their cheerful smiles and striking flower decoration.
BOB BANK
On Friday , 2nd August 2024 the UKG class enjoyed an exciting field trip to the Bank of Baroda. The children were eager to learn about how bank operate and see where people keep their money safe. During the visit, the bank staff warmly welcomed and guided the children through different sections, explaining the basics of banking in a fun and engaging way. At the end of the visit, each child received a chocolate treat making the day even more special and memorable. This field trip was not only educational but also a delightful experience for the young learners.

The trip was full of fun and excitement and great learning. Children got the opportunity to see how letters are collected, segregated, stamped and stored in a place where postman can collect and distribute.
Ganesha Chaturthi
Ganesha Chaturthi celebrations at NPS BSK are simple and full of fun. Teachers tell stories about Ganesha and his importance.
The children sing rhymes and bhajans in praise of Lord Ganesha, and some may even dress up in colourful clothes.
The celebrations often end with a small Ganesha idol placed in the school, and the children offer flowers or draw pictures for Lord Ganesha. The event is a joyful and educational experience, introducing young kids to the traditions and spirit of the festival.
Onam
Onam celebrations at NPS BSK are a vibrant and exciting event, filled with joy and cultural activities. Students and teachers come together to celebrate this traditional festival with enthusiasm.
The school is often decorated with colourful Pookalams (flower carpets) at the entrance, and students participate in making these beautiful floral designs.
There are performances of traditional dances like Thiruvathira and sometimes students dress up in kerala style out fits mundu and sarees to reflect the culture.
Onam at school is a great way for students to enjoy the festival, learn about Kerala's traditions, and celebrate together.
Rhyme to impress
The rhyme to impress event was a lively and fun-filled experience for the children, bringing smiles and excitement to the entire room.
Our tiny little one's of Montessori 1enthusiastically recited, danced and swayed to the tunes of their favourite rhyme in varied languages.
This event not only entertained the children but also encouraged language development, rhythm and coordination, making it a joyful and educational experience.
Story Weave
A storytelling event at NPS BSK by Montessori kids is a magical and fun-filled day where children get to share their favourite stories with their friends.
The children use their imagination to bring the story to life, acting out the characters and making funny voices. They might even use props like toys or hats to make the story more fun.
As they stand in front of their friends, they’re not just telling a story—they’re building confidence, expressing creativity, and learning to speak clearly.
The event helps kids become great listeners, too, as they learn from their friends’ stories and share in the fun of storytelling. It’s a joyful celebration of imagination, friendship, and the power of stories to bring everyone together!
Tactile Activity
Children will explore rough and smooth objects with their eyes closed using their tactile sense. By relying solely on touch, they will describe how each texture feels and guess whether it’s rough or smooth. Afterward, they’ll share which textures they found easiest or hardest to identify. This activity sharpens sensory perception and promotes focus on tactile details.

Montessori 2 children visited the post office as part of their learning experience. They were excited to see how letters and packages are sent and received. At the post office, they watched the workers sorting mail and learned about different types of mail, like letters, postcards, and parcels.
The children had the opportunity to drop a letter into the mailbox and see how it gets ready to be sent to its destination. They also learned about stamps and how they are used on envelopes.
This visit helped the children understand the importance of the post office in communication and sparked their curiosity about how the world connects through letters and messages. They left the post office with big smiles, eager to share what they had learned with their friends and families.
World Food Day
As a part of our “World Food Day” a class activity with our Montessori children was done where children prepared ‘Sprout Salad’ to promote healthy eating and sustainability. The activity focused on highlighting the nutritional value of sprouts which are rich in vitamins, minerals and proteins. Each student participated in preparing the salad, learning how simple ingredients can make a nutritious and delicious meal.
The salad consisted of sprouts, chopped vegetables like tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, grated carrots, boiled peanuts and corn.
The activity had not only enhanced our understanding of nutrition but also aligned with the broader goal of world food day by encouraging sustainable practices and thoughtful food consumption.
Dasara Celebration
Dasara celebrations at school are a delightful and colourful event that fills the air with joy! The school is beautifully decorated with flowers, and everyone comes dressed in traditional clothes. One of the most exciting parts is the doll arrangement where teachers create amazing displays of dolls in different styles. These vibrant and creative doll arrangements tell stories and are a big attraction for everyone.
During the celebrations, there are fun songs, and little skits where children perform and act out the story of Goddess Durga's victory over the demon Mahishasura. The teachers share the meaning of Dasara and explain how it celebrates the triumph of good over evil.
The day also includes games, activities, and sometimes a special puja (prayer) to seek blessings for everyone. Dasara at school is a wonderful mix of fun, culture, and learning, helping children appreciate the importance of the festival in a joyful and interactive way!
Diwali Celebration
Deepavali celebrations at NPS BSK are filled with excitement and joy. Students come dressed in traditional clothes, adding to the festive spirit.
During the celebration, there are fun activities like making greeting diyas, and rangoli designs. The children also enjoy singing songs and dances that reflect the story of Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya after defeating the demon king Ravana.
Teachers explain the significance of Deepavalithe festival of lights, which celebrates the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. The celebrations at school create a lively atmosphere, helping students understand the cultural importance of the festival while having fun with their friends.
Kannada Rajyotsava
Montessori children at NPS BSK, celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava with immense pride and joy, commemorating the formation of the state of Karnataka. The event brought together students, teachers, and staff in a vibrant display of Karnataka’s rich cultural heritage, history, and traditions. The students took part in a series of exciting cultural programs, which showcased the diversity and vibrancy of Karnataka.
A variety of performances were presented, including kannada song, dance and a ramp walk, celebrating the beauty of the language and its literary heritage. These events encouraged the young learners to connect with their cultural roots and express pride in their state.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks , who acknowledged the efforts of all those who contributed to making the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations a grand success.

Christmas Celebration
At NPS BSK Christmas celebration was a fun and happy time. The school is decorated with stars and Christmas tree.
