Library week at National Public School Banashankari from 20th to 24th November was a week-long celebration of literary fervour, transforming the school’s library into a vibrant centre of knowledge and imagination. The week long celebration conducted during assembly started with the importance of reading and by inculcating this habit, it would have a positive impact on our personality.
Students eagerly participated in the quiz and skit to bring in the importance of library and reading books. They read out book reviews and spoke about the rules to be followed in library. Various activities were conducted like Reading Day, Story Telling, Picture Composition and Essay writing.
The week concluded with reinforcing the school’s commitment to nurture a lifelong love for reading and learning among its students.

Hindi was declared as official language by Indian constitution on 14th September 1949. Every year 14th September is celebrated as Hindi Diwas throughout India. National Public School, Banashankari celebrated the same in school by conducting various programs like Hindi poem recitation, dance and drama during assembly.
Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most important Hindu festival celebrated in India. The festival dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed god, who is revered as the remover of obstacles.
Ganesha Chaturthi festival was observed at NPS, Banashankari with great devotion and enthusiasm on 22nd September 2023
The area was adorned with a colourful backdrop and artificial flowers. The celebration began with the ceremonial puja, the puja was conducted with traditional rituals, including lighting the lamps, Vedic chants and offerings to Lord Ganesha idol. All the students of NPS, Banashankari offered aarthi and flowers to Lord Ganesha with folded hands and heartfelt prayers. Following ‘aarthi’ ritual ‘Prasad’ was distributed to all present. The culmination of the Ganesh Chaturthi was the immersion ceremony. This ritual symbolised the return of Lord Ganesha. The entire NPS team participated in the procession, joyfully dancing and singing hymns to bid farewell to the deity.

A small skit was presented on behalf of Gandhi Jayanthi depicting one of the ideology conveyed by our “Father of the Nation”, Mahatma Gandhiji. The children wonderfully enacted the skit expressing the view of being a change that is expected from others.
Dasara was celebrated at NPS Banashankari with great pomp and vigour. A traditional doll display competition was conducted where students and teachers from different houses displayed their dolls in a thematic representation of the Mysore Dasara doll display. Both the students and teachers thoroughly enjoyed the doll display and it brought the students closer to cultural heritage of our country.
Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations at NPS BSK went on with full swing and enthusiasm. It began with the traditional lighting of the lamp to mother Bhuvaneshwari and singing the song Hacchevu kannadadha Deepa. The highlight of the celebration was the week long Kannada assembly where there were many programs that threw light upon the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka. Students presented various eye catching programs like song, dance, skit and fancy dress. The senior Vice Principal and Vice Principal shared their thoughtful insights about the importance of the state’s rich heritage. The celebrations came to an end with students reciting the state anthem. It was a whole week of learning and celebration for the students of NPS BSK.
ನಮ್ಮ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ವಿಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ, ತಾಯಿ ಭುವನೇಶ್ವರಿಗೆ ದೀಪ ಬೆಳಗುವುದರಿಂದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆರಂಭಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಹಚ್ಚೇವುಕನ್ನಡದ ದೀಪಕರುನಾಡ ದೀಪ ಎಂಬ ಹಾಡಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ತಾಯಿ ಭುವನೇಶ್ವರಿಗೆ ನಮನಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುವ ವಿಚಾರಗಳ ಭಾಷಣದ ನಂತರ ಕರುನಾಡಿನ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಸಾಧಕರಾದ ಡಾಕ್ಟರ್ರಾಜಕುಮಾರ್, ಸಾಲುಮರದತಿಮ್ಮಕ್ಕ, ಒನಕೆಓಬವ್ವ, ನಾಲ್ವಡಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣರಾಜಒಡೆಯರ್, ಕಿತ್ತೂರುರಾಣಿ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮರನ್ನುಛದ್ಮವೇಷದ ಮೂಲಕ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಕನ್ನಡದ ರಾಜವಂಶ ಹೊಯ್ಸಳರಗತ ವೈಭವವನ್ನು ಸಾರುವ ನೃತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಹಿರಿಯ ಉಪಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರು ಮತ್ತುಉಪಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮನದಾಳದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕಂಪನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಸಾರುತ್ತ ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡಗೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಡುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
The "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat" scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Ekta Diwas (31st October 2015) on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel draws inspiration from the life of India's freedom fighter. The scheme was launched to celebrate the cultural vibrancy of India while establishing a strong mechanism to inculcate nationalism and cultural awareness among the citizens of our nation. The key aim is to promote the Indian ideology of "Unity in Diversity" in India. It aims to build the interest of people in their neighbouring states and UTs, also encourage them to promote their culture.
