Today our Montessori children gathered excitedly to celebrate International Mother Language Day. It was a day of joyous cultural exchange and appreciation. A day when our little voices echoed the richness of our diverse backgrounds.
Each child proudly either narrated a story or sang song/rhyme/prayer in their mother language. The little spectators sat on mats eagerly listening to tales/songs from different cultural languages.
In the eyes of those small ones International Mother Language Day was a reaffirmation of the beauty of linguistic diversity. It was a day of learning and appreciation - a day they would cherish & remember.

Our Montessori children celebrated, Kannada Rajyotsava, with great enthusiasm at NPS Banashankari, 6th November 2023. Children showcased their talent and exhibited their love for their beloved state, Karnataka by enthusiastically participating in a gala celebration. They sang “Jogada Siri Belakinalli” very melodiously. Some of them were dressed up as” the famous personalities of Karnataka “, Kuvempu, Sangolli Rayanna, Dr. Rajkumar, Sallu maradhaThimmakka”to name a few. The children were able to spread the fragrance of Kannada language with their spectacular dance performance for”HaccevuKannadadadeepasong”which left the audience spellbound. The ceremony ended with the vote of thanks.
We celebrated International Happiness Day on 18/03/24, a reminder of the importance of happiness in our lives. In a world often filled with challenges, this day encourages us to prioritize joy, gratitude, and kindness.

Our surrounding/environment plays an important role in our existence....
On 14th July, our Montessori -3 children visited Indo-American Hybrid seeds, a plants nursery, to develop new skills and learn about their nature.
The journey began at 12.45pm, after having lunch at school. After reaching the nursery, they walked in a line with an excitement to see the beautiful garden of flowers and varieties of plants.
The manager Mr. Madhusudan introduced and gave knowledge, to our little minds, on sowing seeds to grow different varieties of plants.
They learnt about
Responsibility - for caring for plants,
Love for nature,
Creativity,
Nutritional vegetables and fruits.
Children returned to school by school bus with smiles on their faces.
The real heroes are those that are working to protect us and keep us safe each day. While they are often overlooked in the community, they never hesitate to come running to save people in all kinds of emergencies. One such community helper is ‘The Firefighter’.
To throw more light on this, our Montessori 2 children visited ‘Banashankari fire station’ as a part of their educational trip. They actively participated in the fire drill and learnt about different types of first aid fire extinguishers, the emergency contact numbers and many more.Along with this they enjoyed watching variety of water jets which is used by the fire men to extinguish huge fire.
The young minds understood the value of a firefighter and whole heartedly thanked them for being there for us in case of any emergency.
The first day of school is a special event in everyone’s life and it is filled with some fond memories that will stay with us forever.
Our Montessori 1 children started their first day of school on 7th June 2023.
Parents accompanied their children into the classroom on this special day. Both the parent and the child worked with the preliminary materials enthusiastically.
The excitement in the children boosted when they had the freedom of choice to work with different materials. Meanwhile, parents were briefed about general instructions, though simple, but very important to be followed through out their journey in Montessori.
Children enjoyed the ‘Palm print activity’ on a canvas board, which marked their first day at school. They spent some quality time with their parent in their classroom. They left for the day with the ‘palm printed canvas board’, chocolates and huge smile on their face.
On 11th of November our Montessori-1 children dressed up themselves as Fruits and Vegetables.
The program started in the morning around 9:30.
All the children were excited to showcase their talents.
They were dressed up as Strawberries, pomegranates, mangos, bananas, carrot, broccoli, coconut to name a few.
The children spoke about the colour taste and nutritional values.
Teachers added more information on fruits and vegetables to the knowledge basket.
Montessori -3 and 2 children witnessed and enjoyed the programme.
"The best inheritance a parent can give his child is a few minutes of time each day." And to make it possible Montessori department organized “Sambrama Sourabha” on 4th November at NPS Banashankari.
This event was planned with a prime focus to allow parents and their child to spend fun and interactive time together.
The program started with Diya decoration activity in which parents & child decorated the Diya together with lot of enthusiasm. After that, musical chair was conducted wherein children loved playing along with their parents and had loads of fun.
The event concluded with everyone performing Kolata with sticks. Children could be seen filled with happiness and energy. Truly an event that they will remember for a very long time.
