The International Yoga Day

The International Day of Yoga for the year 2016, was celebrated in National Public School Banashankari with great enthusiasm. A special yoga session was conducted to mark the event. The programme began with a speech, explaining the origin of yoga and its importance in the life of a student. Then, the yoga session started with an invocation shloka. Students displayed various asanas with ease. The yoga instructor explained the benefits of each asana. They performed Suryanamaskara followed by Vrikshsana, Trikonasana, Parshvasana, Natrajasana, Ekpadasana, Chakrasana along with different sitting and lying postures. The session ended with shavasana and the world peace prayer.
