Inter School Competitions

Debattle Debate at NPS, Yeshwantpur

Our children participated in the debate competition DEBATTLE organized by NPS Yeshwantpur on 24.08.16. Ten schools participated in the contest, each with two speakers, one spoke for the motion and one against the motion. The topic for the debate was “Social Media is Dangerously Vulnerable.”

Three eminent personalities from the field of education were the judges for the day. The contest was conducted in a classic style where each participant spoke for 2 minutes and had 1 minute rebuttal to voice their opinion on the other speakers. This was followed by the questions from the judges. All the contestants performed exceedingly well and the judges were quite happy with the way each student put forth their opinions and contentions.

Our students performed extremely well. Ria Chathurvedi and Anushka Subramaniam of Grade X put forth a good fight which saw us placed in the first position for team effort, Anushka Subramaniam clinched the first runner up position. Kudos to our students.

Vivum Festival

VIVUM is a Latin word for “that which is alive”. It is a cultural and sports festival that TISB has been hosting for the past eight years. This is a unique festival in the way it is organized, as it is conducted solely “by the students for the students” of different schools in Bangalore. This year on the 24th, 25th & 26thof August 2016, our children participated in the sports and cultural items at the festival.

Our students exhibited excellent sportsmanship in Table Tennis and Badminton; they showcased marvelous talents, second to none, in the cultural and intellectual opportunities too.

We are proud of our students, a team of six members, who danced to express a tale that was close to their heart in a TELL-A-TALE competition. They conveyed a beautiful message as they danced to the song “Who says you are not beautiful “sung by Selena Gomes, telling their audience to be confident in their attributes and not to feel defeated by roadblocks. Our students won the third place in the event. The team members of TELL-A-TALE team were Anusha Ajith Kumar, Anushka Subramaniam, Ria Chaturvedi , Aisiri Deepak, Niharika N and Deepthi R.
