National Public School – Banashankari, a day school, welcomes students to its child centred environment, offering Montessori, Kindergarten and Grades I to IX and extended to Grade XII.

Besides striving for academic excellence, the School aims at providing holistic education for each child. The integrated approach enables the student to discover and develop his or her multiple talents.
The individual student is the focus of our teaching and that the class strength at NPS is limited to only 30 students.

Our teaching methodologies incorporate the best of various systems, from ancient traditions like outdoor learning to the most modern experiential learning approaches.

Our Curriculum

National Public School– Banashankari has programmed a diverse and specialized curriculum, which helps the child to develop critical thinking and problem solving.

Curriculum development is therefore a permanent feature of this educational institution. The students become participants in learning, not just merely securing a body of knowledge, so that their learning becomes linked to their life outside the School.

National Public School – Banashankari offers two exciting Early Years learning programmes, the Montessori and Kindergarten for children between ages 3 to 6.

An integrated global curriculum is offered from Grades I-XII and is based on the requirements of both Indian and International education systems. While this is geared essentially to the needs of the students in the primary and middle Schools, the focus in the secondary School is on achieving important, externally recognized standards.

The curriculum encompasses core subjects i.e. English, Science, Mathematics, Social Studies and Languages in addition to subjects like Computer Science, Art, Yoga, Music, Dance, Drama and Physical education. Specialist teachers provide instruction and guidance in the latter group.

The following language options are offered :
  • Grades 1 to 4 – English (I language- Compulsory), Hindi / Kannada (II Language)
  • Grades 5 to 8 – English (I language- Compulsory), Hindi / Kannada (II Language) , Sanskrit / French (III language)
  • Grade 9 – English (I language- Compulsory), Hindi / Kannada / Sanskrit / French (II language)

Students will be given an eligibility test before opting for II language in Grade 9. These languages would be offered if the numbers of students make it viable.

NPS is committed to integrating modern information technology into the middle and senior curriculum.

Joyful Beginnings

At NPS, the Early Learning Programme comprises two parallel streams, the Montessori programme-( Age Group: 3 to 5) and the Kindergarten Programme (Age Group: 4 to 5).

The Montessori programme, a course of 3 year duration, offered to 3 to 5 year old children, is based on traditional Montessori principles of multi-sensory and sequential learning. Specially designed equipment and learning resource provide interesting and valuable learning opportunities for children at a self directed pace. It incorporates the vertical integration of 3, 4 and 5 year old in one environment.

The Kindergarten programme is for 2 year duration and is offered to students at 4 to 5 years of age. The two entry points in to the Kindergarten are 4 years of age, into Lower Kindergarten or 5 years of age, into Upper Kindergarten. A large number of carefully designed, hands-on interactive learning experiences build a strong academic foundation in children.
